Bodie Stanley is a multidisciplinary visual and sonic artist working across sound, installation, experimental composition, sculpture, print, and painting. He holds a First-Class Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration, where he was awarded the Visual Showcase Award, and a Distinction MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, where he received the UAL Home Student Scholarship and a recognition award for collaborations. He was also shortlisted for the Bow Arts Mick Bateman Memorial Award for artists working in metal.

His practice is deeply rooted in social engagement and exploring accessibility within art institutions. Environments, journeys, and psychogeography significantly influence his work, as he examines how certain places can reinforce social segregation—whether through physical barriers or a lack of transport and amenities.

Bodie’s work delves into the impact of sound—its power to represent the world around us, evoke emotional responses, and even offer healing properties. Stanley aims to infuse playfulness and nostalgia into his work, inviting people to interact with it

Recently, Bodie has been developing metal bells and cymbals shaped from brass to resemble mushrooms, drawing inspiration from their intricate mycorrhizal networks and the experimental composer John Cage’s fascination with mushrooms and their indeterminacy in wondering, finding and picking.
